Everyone has seen Super Size Me.  If you haven't, you should.  Fast food, quite literally is responsible for a horrific number of deaths per year. With the effect impacting our bodies the way they do, the result is obesity, morbid obesity, heart disease, stroke, bowel cancer and more. These foods are contributing to more deaths each year. 

The quantity of saturated fats, cholesterol, sugars and caffeine in fast foods is criminal. Most fast foods can be categorized as near lethal in their impact on the body.  Aside from the addictive quality of fats and sugars, the rushing and gobbling of food at high speeds does nothing for our bodies or digestion.  Even the complete lack of fiber in take-away foods is next to nil. 

No one can survive on fast food for very long, before experiencing its toxic effects.

The term "fast food" generally refers to burgers, sandwiches of some kind, French fries, soda pop, etc.

For the most part, staying away from these types of food and choosing marginally healthier alternatives from the various fast food menus, such as Mexican food, Chinese food and Italian foods, is a definite improvement, but you have to go one step further.  

Spicy foods, like Indian food, eaten while the body is under stress, can cause heartburn, acid reflux and other symptoms of much larger problems. Some types of Mediterranean foods are incredibly healthy, until things like cheeses and oils (other than olive oil....the best) are added.

Many fast food restaurants use the food pyramid to advertise their healthier choices.  It's good to see more and more are putting the nutritional values on their napkins or posters.

Even some "health food" restaurants can overdue the exotic combinations and varying flavors of health food and its components, making some hard to digest and hard on the body.

If you want to achieve maximum health benefits from your foods, you need to eat a diet high in fresh vegetables and fruits, good nuts and legumes, lean white meats and fish.  

Responsibility is yours for looking at labels, watching your fat intake, sodium intake and sugars. Be vigilant of what you're putting in your body.  Don't let advertising hypes con you into thinking that their new and improved products are anything but over-processed and toxin-containing food substitute. 

For good health, fill your body with REAL foods, fresh real vegetables, lots of greens for their nutritional value, good fresh fruits and other whole, real foods. Buy yourself a food processor and experiment with new dishes that contain fresh new ingredients.  Learn to taste real foods again.  

Put your body in touch with a diet worthy of your life.  A diet that can sustain you in the most healthful way possible.

Eat whole foods.  Nature's fast food.
